Sharing my experience of suffering from acid reflux disease.
Gastroesophageal reflux disease is an inflammation of the esophagus caused by the backflow of stomach contents or stomach acid into the esophagus.
A condition that collectively refers to discomfort related to the above, with factors such as obesity, alcohol consumption, and smoking acting as aggravating factors.
I also have experience being treated for reflux esophagitis.
I heard that everyone has a little bit of reflux esophagitis, so while the term "common" might be a bit of an overstatement, I knew it was a disease that many people suffer from.
However, depending on the severity, it can become a serious condition, so caution is necessary.
I was diagnosed with gastroesophageal reflux disease about two years ago.
I discovered reflux esophagitis during a gastroscopy performed every two years. I knew it was originally mild, but I thought it could be managed with dietary therapy.
But it seems like I haven't lived any worse than usual, yet the diagnosis came out that way.
Actually, I sometimes experienced heartburn or burping occasionally.
But it wasn't uncomfortable enough to suspect acid reflux or to get tested separately, so I didn't do any tests, but I guess I should have gone to the hospital if I had symptoms.
After seeing the results, they said I should take medication, but I was suddenly scared.
I'm worried about what to do if my reflux esophagitis doesn't improve even after taking medication.
So, I tried to improve my eating habits and exercised more diligently while taking medication.
First, I have a habit of lying down immediately after eating, and I heard that's not good for acid reflux.
I think it's the first habit I need to fix, so I have reduced lying down immediately after eating.
I try to be active for at least an hour before lying down.
I like spicy and salty刺激 foods, but I avoided such刺激 foods because they are not good for reflux esophagitis.
I exercised more diligently than before and took my medication properly.
Fortunately, it didn't get worse, and I was just told to take medication and manage it well, and that was the end of it, but even now, my worries haven't changed.
Receiving a diagnosis of reflux esophagitis made me realize how important my daily habits are.
