Review of initial diagnosis and drug treatment for gastric ulcer
There is a family history upstairs, and I usually have an endoscopy examination once a year.
As I got older, chronic gastritis was a pre-existing condition, but at some point it progressed to a stomach ulcer, and I received medication treatment.
It wasn't easy to treat because the medication was more potent than the usual stomach medicine, but fortunately I was fully cured, and I am still living cautiously now.
There are many people on my maternal side who have passed away from stomach cancer, and since my family has a history of various stomach-related issues, I have always been cautious about stomach diseases since I was young.
It was fine when I was young, but as I got older, during health checkups, chronic gastritis always appeared at some point.
I thought I was okay until gastritis, but I knew that once it turned into a stomach ulcer, treatment would be difficult, so I was careful with my meals, tried to avoid worsening the condition, and limited my alcohol consumption as much as possible.
But it seems this was of no use either.
Last year, during a health checkup, I was diagnosed with a stomach ulcer through an endoscopy.
I usually have trouble digesting and often feel bloated, and I especially noticed a strong unpleasant smell coming from inside my body. It seems that my stomach condition was so poor that I might have developed a stomach ulcer.
Still, one fortunate thing is that it was detected early through an endoscopic examination, and the doctor also mentioned that it was in the early stage of 'gastric ulcer,' so it can be completely cured with medication alone without any special procedures.
The period of taking medication was quite long.
It may vary depending on the condition or progression of 'gastric ulcer,' but even though it was relatively early, I took medication for 14 days.
It seemed to be more potent than the usual stomach ulcer medication provided at a regular neighborhood hospital.
I don't know if it's just my mood, but I didn't feel well the whole time I was eating.
Fortunately, after medication treatment, my symptoms improved significantly and I was cured, so I am now living normally.
There is another health checkup in November, and since I have a strong family history, I am also worried that I might unexpectedly develop a stomach ulcer.
I am consistently managing my diet every day.
Malignant 'gastric ulcer' is said to be a shortcut to stomach cancer.
I believe that consistent diet management and regular health check-ups are very important for early detection and treatment of this condition.
