Overcoming gastric ulcers through eradication of Helicobacter pylori bacteria

I developed a stomach ulcer after eradicating Helicobacter pylori, which is classified as a Class 1 carcinogen.
I didn't have any symptoms like heartburn or other stomach discomfort, but during the endoscopy, they found a stomach ulcer and also mentioned that I have Helicobacter pylori bacteria.
Helicobacter pylori bacteria can cause stomach ulcers or stomach cancer, so I took antibiotics to eradicate it, and the stomach ulcer also healed.

The upper part is acidic, so other bacteria cannot survive, but the only exception is Helicobacter pylori, which can live in the stomach. The shape of Helicobacter pylori looks like helicopter blades~

The World Health Organization has classified Helicobacter pylori as a Group 1 carcinogen.
Helicobacter pylori staying in the stomach for a long time increases the likelihood of developing gastric diseases such as stomach ulcers and can also cause stomach cancer.

1. Take Helicobacter eradication antibiotics for the definitive treatment of gastric ulcers.

So, I took medication and underwent Helicobacter eradication treatment.
I took antibiotics and acid suppressants for two weeks.
When taking Helicobacter eradication medication, it must be taken without missing doses for the prescribed duration to prevent resistance.

Taken for the fundamental treatment of gastric ulcers
Helicobacter eradication antibiotics are said to be very strong medications.
So, the doctor will decide whether the disinfectant is useful or not.
I took the medication because I thought disinfecting would be more beneficial.

At first, I experienced some mild stomach discomfort after taking the Helicobacter eradication medication.
Still, since I started, I took the disinfectant regularly with the intention of properly eliminating it, and I have completed two weeks of medication.

After about a month, I had a test to check whether the Helicobacter pylori bacteria had been eradicated.
The test results show that sterilization was successful.
I was told that next year’s gastroscopy showed no stomach ulcers and was clean.

2. Be cautious of Helicobacter pylori reinfection

Helicobacter pylori bacteria tend to be easily re-infected.
Infections can also occur through the food consumed when dining with someone infected with Helicobacter pylori, such as through contaminated food or water.
So, I try to practice serving less food and eating it that way whenever possible. It might seem a bit strict, but when multiple spoons go into the same earthenware bowl, I can't help but feel a bit concerned, haha.
It was difficult to sterilize, so I think it is important to prevent re-infection.

I was able to eradicate Helicobacter pylori with just two weeks of antibiotics, but it is often the case that two weeks of treatment alone does not completely eliminate the bacteria.
In this case, the medication needs to be changed and antibiotics should be continued, but they say that ongoing medication is causing significant discomfort.
I am grateful for the complete sterilization this time, and I will be careful to prevent reinfection in the future.

Foods good for stomach ulcers

When the stomach ulcer was severe, I took medication and diligently ate foods that are good for the stomach.
Good foods above include cabbage, yam, taro, and potatoes. No matter what food you eat, you should chew it well in your mouth and send it to your stomach so that your stomach can digest it well.

✔Radish
Inside raw radish, there are enzymes that help digest carbohydrates, which is good for stomach health.
It is good to eat raw radish juice by grating fresh radish, but if you feel uncomfortable after drinking raw radish juice, it is better not to consume it.
If a stomach ulcer heals, it is good to frequently eat foods made from radish, such as kimchi.

Foods that contain slippery ingredients are generally good for the stomach.
✔Bananas, taro, lotus root, nattō, fermented soybean paste, and similar items fall into this category.

✔Cabbage: The vitamin U component in cabbage helps protect the stomach lining, making it good for the stomach.
Cabbage contains a lot of dietary fiber, so it may not be suitable if you experience bloating.
In such cases, it might be good to try drinking cabbage juice.

During the first few days of severe gastric ulcers, it is okay to eat easily digestible porridge.
However, if you consume a liquid diet like porridge for too long, your gastrointestinal motility may weaken, making digestion more difficult when you switch to regular food.
Therefore, a liquid diet like porridge should only be consumed during the first few days when symptoms are severe.

There was no heartburn or stomach discomfort.
National health check-up endoscopy examination
Gastric ulcers and Helicobacter pylori bacteria have been detected.
Treated gastric ulcer.
I am going to eradicate the Helicobacter pylori bacteria.
Currently, without recurrence of gastric ulcers or Helicobacter pylori infection
I'm doing well.

If I had lived without knowing that I had Helicobacter pylori above, it could have led to a bad situation.
Even with gastric ulcers, not everyone experiences symptoms like heartburn or indigestion. There are cases, like mine, where there are no symptoms.
It would be good to get regular health screenings through the national health insurance to prevent issues early.
This was my personal experience of overcoming an abnormal gastric ulcer through eradication of Helicobacter pylori.
