저도 가끔씩 자다가 역류성식도염을 느낀적이 있네요 먹는일도 관리를 잘해야겠다고 느끼네요
A review of a patient diagnosed with reflux esophagitis through endoscopy at Gangdong Seoul Clinic and treated with medication.
Two months ago, I went to Gangdong Seoul Clinic for a health checkup and had an upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. I was able to see the doctor right away on the same day. I was diagnosed with reflux esophagitis. The endoscopy images showed red, discolored mucosa. They also said I had gastritis, which had caused erosions.
He asked me about my diet. He checked if I overeat, drink coffee, or have recently taken any pain relievers or fever reducers. I felt confident because the doctor asked me such thorough questions.
However, I had all the bad habits for reflux esophagitis. I had a habit of eating too fast, overeating, and even drinking strong Americano in the morning on an empty stomach. These were all bad eating habits for both gastritis and reflux esophagitis. The doctor prescribed medication. He prescribed Esomezol capsules for hyperphagia and Mucosta tablets to protect the stomach lining. I took a 28-day supply and it was all gone.
After my recent diagnosis, I also changed my diet. I started skipping breakfast and drinking a cup of coffee, but now I've started eating simple breakfasts like boiled eggs and soy milk. I also practiced intermittent fasting, but I stopped that. When I felt a little bloated, I cut down on coffee as much as possible to protect my stomach.
It's been a month since I finished taking the medication, and I haven't had any uncomfortable heartburn. I've also tried to reduce my overeating habits to prevent gastroesophageal reflux, so I put down my spoon when I feel a little full. I've also been told that going straight to bed after a heavy meal isn't good for you, so I try to finish dinner as early as possible.
Reflux esophagitis is initially treated with medication. After that, consistent dietary adjustments seem to be the most important.
This is a medication prescribed for reflux esophagitis. The packet also included information on the nutrients I should supplement with. I also took vitamin D supplements separately and took a comprehensive nutritional supplement.
I hope that the day will come when everyone can feel better, and I conclude my story of overcoming reflux esophagitis.
If you have the following symptoms of reflux esophagitis, don't put up with it and go to the internal medicine department right away!
[Symptoms of reflux esophagitis]
Typical symptoms include heartburn or acid reflux, while atypical symptoms include chest pain, hoarseness, a lump in the throat (pharyngeal lump), difficulty swallowing (dysphagia), sore throat, cough, asthma, and heartburn. Heartburn is the most common and important symptom, occurring in at least 75% of patients with GERD, and its decline in quality of life is known to be proportional to this symptom. In Korea, heart burn is translated and used in various ways, such as chest burning, heartburn, and substernal burning, but it is difficult for patients to understand accurately. Therefore, to help patients better understand this symptom, it is also expressed as 'a burning sensation rising from the upper or lower chest to the throat.' Some of the symptoms are described as follows.
- There is a burning or stinging sensation in the lower chest area.
- There is a symptom of acid and bitter water coming up into the esophagus.
- I have pain in my chest area.
- I feel like something is stuck in my throat.
- I often feel sick.
- I cough often even though I don't have a cold.
- I often have a hoarse voice.
