Exposing the excessive medical treatment at Catholic University St. Vincent Hospital

Around 10:30 in the morning, I went to my mom's nursing home, and she choked on her food, so she was taken to St. Vincent Emergency Room.

It was so painfully slow that I thought I was going to die from stomach pain.

My mom was unconscious at first, but she came back to consciousness, though she doesn't recognize who she is or even her daughter.

But the doctor only recommended brain surgery late in the afternoon.

Is my mother, who is 88 years old and weighs 40 kilograms, capable of withstanding that surgery? I also believe she cannot overcome such a procedure physically.

Currently, she has dementia and cannot recognize people, so they say it's not brain surgery. Since there's nothing they can do, they are suggesting she be discharged.

Since I came in anyway and want to recover my strength before being discharged, they told me this is not the kind of hospital where I can be discharged.

After consulting with the nursing home, I was discharged early the next morning and received two weeks of treatment at Baekseong Hospital near the nursing home before being discharged.

Fortunately, she is now recognizing herself and her family and is doing well at the nursing home.

If you want to go home because your daughters might be having a hard time, even with dementia, she says she is suffering and feels burdened, so she will stay in the nursing home.

Oh, as I write this, my chest feels heavy and tears are welling up.
