You've all heard of gastritis, right? Some of you may have already had it, while others may still be suffering from it.
I've had frequent bouts of gastritis. I think it's because I didn't take care of it.
The causes of gastritis are said to be irregular lifestyle habits, excessive stress, caffeine, drinking, and smoking of modern people.
Before it becomes chronic, I'm determined not to get it anymore before it's too late, so I'm going to share what I'm doing to prevent gastritis.
I love drinking so much.
I like to enjoy the atmosphere rather than just eating because it's delicious.
I'm the type of person who never misses a drinking party and never turns down a drink.
And I enjoy spicy food. I can't imagine life without it.
Are you doing all the bad things above?? ㅠㅠ Since I have no joy in life, I relieve my stress by doing things like this.
And so!!! Eventually, my body changed into one that frequently suffers from gastritis.
At some point, I liked eating, but whenever I ate, my stomach would churn.
As soon as I drank alcohol, I started feeling sick.
Even the stomach acid kept coming out... My throat felt like it was burning and I was crying, it was so hard.
Ah, I thought it was coming again, so I went to the hospital.
I'm afraid that if this continues like this, it will become chronic.
People make mistakes even when they know they're going to get sick, right? I knew I was going to get sick and I knew I needed to improve my eating habits, but...
I think mind control is something that doesn't work as well as you want.
I thought it would be impossible to cure it, but even if it is cured, I will tell you what you can do to prevent gastritis from recurring.
Actually, it may not be a big deal and may be something obvious, but I think it is difficult to consistently maintain something that is obvious.
If you have progressive gastritis or want to prevent it in the future, read the method I practice below.
I hope you can improve even small habits~ Everyone should prevent gastritis!
1. Abstinence from alcohol & abstinence from alcohol when unavoidable
It's almost the end of the year... It's the season when there are a lot of appointments, right?
There will be a lot of appointments, and given the Korean culture, it seems difficult to avoid drinking parties.
But you have to maintain abstinence and moderation~
If you have no choice, abstain from drinking.
I usually replace alcohol with electrolyte drinks. It's actually quite difficult.
I'm currently abstaining from alcohol because I believe I need to take care of my own health. Everyone knows that alcohol puts a strain on the stomach and is the worst for gastritis.
For the sake of your health, let's definitely abstain from alcohol.
2. Eat slowly and avoid long periods of fasting.
Intermittent fasting is a popular diet these days.
I also once did intermittent fasting (maintaining a fasting period for a certain period of time, sometimes up to 18 hours).
I found out too late that this was not good.
Gastritis is a condition in which the stomach lining is already weakened and inflamed.
In this state, fasting for about 18 hours... stomach acid continues to be secreted, causing heartburn, nausea, and pain.
Without knowing that, I thought that since my stomach was not feeling well, I should eat less and fast, so I fasted for a long time.
I found out too late that it was fatally bad for the stomach.
If I skip breakfast, I always eat something simple like boiled eggs or omelet rice.
So, eat slowly and chew your food for a long time (chew it about 50 times).
Don't fast too long! I'm trying to eat regularly, eating breakfast, lunch, and early dinner.
On days when I get off work late, I simply replace it with protein and chicken breast.
I am extending my meal times to prevent gastritis.
3. Eat good foods and avoid foods that are bad for your stomach.
Good foods above include cabbage, eggs, bananas, tofu, fish, and seaweed soup.
They say that it's good for your stomach and also helps you consume protein, so eat eggs and tofu often.
Cabbage can be eaten as a salad or made into cabbage tea for a rich flavor.
Above all, you should avoid foods that are bad for your stomach.
I love spicy food... but I'm cutting back on it ㅠ
If I want to eat it, I eat it about once a week ㅠㅠ (I used to eat spicy food 3 times a day)
Although you can't avoid it completely, I think it's important to develop the habit of gradually reducing it.
I really liked carbonated drinks, but they're bad for my stomach, so I also use sports drinks as a substitute.
And the new food above is not good for you, so I stay away from vinegar and lemon.
Protecting yourself like this will help prevent gastritis.
4. Stress management is the most important factor in preventing gastritis.
Have you ever felt a stabbing pain in your stomach when you were stressed?
When I'm stressed, a sign usually pops up right above.
If you don't get enough sleep, you become sensitive and vulnerable to stress.
I felt a crowd coming from above.
It's important to get at least six hours of sleep. Sleep is the most important thing!
Regular exercise and meditation are also necessary for stress management.
I don't do excessive exercise, but I take time for light walking and meditation for at least 10 minutes when I get home.
When you are stressed, stomach acid is produced and this leads to damage to the stomach lining.
If that happens, gastritis will recur, so you absolutely must manage stress.
Even if you take care of it like this, if you are suffering from gastritis, you should go to the hospital and get treatment quickly.
I was stressed out a while ago and felt pain in my stomach, so I went to the hospital and received urgent medication.
These are really obvious methods, but they are difficult to keep in mind in daily life.
I hope everyone will diligently take care of themselves and prevent gastritis, and I will also diligently prevent it and have a healthy time.
