Desonacream prescribed for sun allergy. Is it safe to continue using it?
This summer, I experienced a severe case of sun allergy. I had some symptoms before, but this summer was the worst in history, so I even wore a handkerchief around my neck while staying at home. Since my house faces south, the sun comes in strongly, and even when hanging laundry or just being indoors and exposed to sunlight, my neck would turn red, become very itchy and stinging. Covering my neck with a handkerchief helped block the sunlight, which reduced the itching. The dermatologist prescribed Desonacream, explaining that it is a steroid cream. Even now, I sometimes want to apply it whenever my neck itches, but I try to hold back as much as possible. The strange scars on my neck have healed, so I try not to use it unless necessary. As the weather gradually warms up, I feel a bit scared again.
Can I apply Desonacream every time I feel itchy? It seems like a temporary solution, and I'm a bit hesitant to use a steroid cream.
