A few years ago, I had seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp. And now, after several years, it has come back again!ㅠㅠ
I have red, painful pimples inside my scalp. Lately, I've been very worried because of these scalp pimples.
Since I have already experienced seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp, when my scalp didn't feel right this time, I immediately recognized it as scalp dermatitis.
The location of this pimple is near the hairline at the front. Since it's visible from the front of the face, it's quite stressful.
The problem is not just pimples on my head, but also insanely disgusting pimples covering the sides of my face (the areas with baby hair)...
The forehead and sideburns are a mess...
It feels like inflammation and pimples are spreading from my head downward. Does this happen sometimes? ㅠㅠ In the past, it was only on my head, but now it has spread to my face, and it's really bothering me.
My condition worsened, so I went to the dermatologist. I was prescribed a special shampoo for seborrheic scalp dermatitis, oral medication, and topical medication. The topical medication turned out to be a steroid.
When I went to the dermatology clinic and asked why my condition wasn't improving and had spread to my face, they said that steroid medication isn't necessarily always bad, but since I kept applying it to my head, it might have caused side effects like acne on my face. The steroid side effects I had only heard about in stories happened to me tooㅠㅠ Usually, the steroid medication worked well for me, but this time, for some reason, it didn't have any effect.
The doctor said I should start with acne treatment and prescribed oral medication. The acne medication seems strong, so the pimples on my face have significantly improved.
But the scalp remains the same. Haha, it doesn't get better, does it, doctor..? There are quite a few other areas like this as well.
First of all, the pimples on my scalp are pimples, and the area around my hairline is extremely itchy. Those reading this might think it's because I haven't been washing my forehead properly, but I believe the reason for my scalp dermatitis is not due to insufficient washing, as I wash my face very diligently.
A friend is suggesting I should go to a general hospital dermatology department like this, should I really change hospitals?
First, I completely stopped eating flour. I also don't drink coffee, and usually I don't touch my hair with my hands. However, I think I have scratched myself a few times unconsciously while sleeping because of the itchiness. Due to the nature of my work, I often work late at night, so it's hard to sleep early. I don't think sleep is the 100% cause. Is it an immune system issue? But I never catch a cold, haha.
If there are people who have experienced and overcome scalp dermatitis multiple times, please share your tipsㅠ
