피지낭종이 엄청 심하셨네요. 왜 진작 병원에 가지 않으셨을까요? 지금이라도 제거해서 정말 다행입니다.
Review of treatment for a skin cyst over 10 years old.
This is a review of my mother’s experience with surgery for an old skin cyst. It was said to be over ten years old, but I only found out this time because it had grown larger. Four years ago, she had surgery for colon and liver cancer and underwent about a year of chemotherapy. I wonder if the skin cyst shrank because of the chemotherapy, but at that time, it was hardly noticeable, so I didn’t even know it was there. About two months ago, it suddenly grew larger, and I was thinking of having it operated on when the weather turned cold. However, she suddenly developed redness, pus, and pain, so we visited the dermatologist urgently. Actually, we went there intending to have surgery that day, but since she was on heart medication, she couldn’t have the operation immediately, so we only received antibiotics. She is taking blood thinners, so we were told to stop them for about a week to prevent bleeding issues. Since the skin cyst was already infected, we hoped the antibiotics would be effective enough to reduce the swelling. She was told to come back in three days, but when we returned, the infection hadn’t improved, and it had grown larger, so she had to undergo surgery despite the risk of bleeding. Fortunately, there was some bleeding, but it wasn’t severe enough to require an emergency room visit, and the hospital managed to stop the bleeding well. Many people develop skin cysts, but it’s best not to let them grow and to have them removed simply when they are small. Of course, it’s obvious, but if you worry and don’t go, and it becomes as severe as ours, it can be very troublesome. You must go early without fail.
