(Concern) Itchy skin on my thigh... What could be the cause? Is it contact dermatitis or eczema?

Since summer has begun...

The itching all over my body is really severe...

It seemed like the itching in my arms and legs had subsided a bit, but...

Around the end of July, both thighs itch insanely...

Right now, the area on the back of the buttocks and the waist where the clothes touch is extremely itchy.

Really.. I scratched so intensely that it bled and a scab formed.

It’s so severe that it stings when it comes into contact with water or moisturizer.

Intensely itchy, the recurring cycle of itching and subsiding...

Is this a symptom caused by weakened immunity?

Is this a dermatitis that commonly occurs during the summer?

Or maybe it's stress-induced dermatitis...

Even though I know I need to go to the hospital...

I've been procrastinating and delaying.

Can you see the scratch marks from scratching with your fingernails due to itching? Do you also see the scabs from scratching and bleeding before?

This is a photo taken when the condition was less severe...

Since going to the swimming pool during vacation, I've suddenly been experiencing itching and pain like this.

It is also suspected to be contact dermatitis...

Another hot summer... I'm curious if it's also eczema.

The difference between eczema and contact dermatitis is as follows.

Eczema is a general term used to describe inflammation of the epidermis, presenting symptoms such as redness, swelling, itching, blisters, cracking, discharge, and bleeding, either individually or in combination. Meanwhile, contact dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, and atopic dermatitis are classified based on their causes, but regardless of the cause, the acute symptoms of dermatitis all appear as eczema-like skin lesions. Therefore, eczema can be understood as a single skin condition with various underlying causes.

Contact dermatitis occurs when metals, chemicals, and other substances cause allergic (immune) reactions through skin contact. Examples include eczema developing along the area where copper rings or watches are worn, eczema on the hands of workers handling chemicals, and eczema caused by contact with lacquer trees.

Seborrheic dermatitis is a chronic inflammatory skin condition believed to be caused by excessive sebum secretion, genetic predisposition, and the presence of the fungus Pityrosporum, which prefers fatty environments. It commonly appears on the scalp, face (eyebrows, eyelids, lips, ears, around the nose), anterior chest, armpits, and beneath the breasts. The most important difference from contact dermatitis is whether there has been contact with an offending substance. If dermatitis develops after contact with a certain substance, it is considered contact dermatitis; conversely, if it occurs regardless of contact with a substance, it may be suspected to be dermatitis caused by other factors. Additionally, the affected areas and response to certain medications can help distinguish between the two conditions, but acute lesions that appear in similar locations can sometimes be difficult to differentiate.
