Just changing 'this order' when washing... helps prevent skin troubles
To prevent skin troubles, it is better to brush your teeth first and then wash your face. This is because the ingredients in toothpaste and tiny food debris can come into contact with your face during brushing. Toothpaste contains various ingredients such as fluoride, abrasives, and surfactants. These ingredients help remove foreign substances and whiten teeth. However, if they get on the face, they can irritate the skin, so caution is needed. People already suffering from skin conditions like acne or dermatitis may experience worsening symptoms. Therefore, to avoid skin problems caused by toothpaste ingredients, it is advisable to thoroughly remove any toothpaste residue around the mouth with face washing after brushing. If washing the face is difficult, at least carefully rinse off the foam around the mouth. After washing, apply skin toner or lotion to prevent the skin from drying out. If you frequently develop acne around the mouth without any particular reason, it may help to check the ingredients in your toothpaste and consider changing products.
When washing your face, you should start by cleaning your nose and forehead to reduce skin irritation. The area around the nose and forehead, known as the 'T-zone,' is particularly prone to excess oil secretion. In contrast, the cheeks, which are usually washed first during cleansing, tend to have less oil and are relatively drier. Over-washing the cheeks can actually irritate the skin and make it more dry. Therefore, it is recommended to delay the washing of the cheeks, shorten the time spent rubbing them, and focus more thoroughly on cleaning the oil around the nose and forehead.
It is better to wash your hair first and your body later when taking a shower. Shampoo contains chemical ingredients such as parabens or alcohol, which can clog pores and cause irritation if they remain on the skin. The same applies to treatments and rinses. It is recommended to wash your body after washing your hair, and after shampooing, rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
