[Review] Treatment for ingrown toenail

I heard that my son got hurt after visiting a friend's house.

When I asked where and why they got hurt, my friend said they caught their toe in a closing doorㅜㅜ

On the day of the injury, it was swollen and red, and the second toenail was a shade between gray and black.

So I thought I would get a bruise on my toenail.

 

When it was the second day, my son said, "Mom, my toenail is so black!!"

My toenails have really turned black. I've never seen toenails turn black like this before.

Nails are still harder than other flesh, right? But I thought that even nails can bruise like flesh when injured.

I asked my son, and he said it's a little uncomfortable but not really painful, so I just put on several layers of bandages when he goes to school.

I'm worried that if my toenail touches somewhere else, it might cause pain.

On the third day, my son said, "My toenail is wiggling~ it feels like it's going to fall off," so I checked and realized that the entire toenail was bruised, and the pain was shaking throughout the toe. Then, the toenail fell off. It was the first time I saw a toenail fall off.

It just swung back and forth and then suddenly disappeared.

 

The second toe where the toenail has fallen off shows exposed flesh and appears slightly reddish, like blood flow.

So, I disinfected the missing toenail and toe with household disinfectant and red ointment, and applied Madécasol to promote new skin growth.

When you just apply the ointment, it doesn't feel like it's being absorbed during sleep or movement, but rather like it's disappearing, right? The bandage sticks well to the toes, but when you apply ointment and then put the bandage on, it tends to come off more easily. This is because it feels like a thin layer covers the ointment, so I sprayed over it after applying the ointment. To help the ointment penetrate well into the area where the nail has fallen off...

I disinfected and applied ointment every day.

Around about a week later, a delicate nail started to grow instead of a hard one. It was so fascinating.

And after two weeks, the nails have fully grown. The delicate nails have turned into strong, sturdy nails.

 

 

I disinfected, applied ointment, and sprayed skin protectant at home every day until it healed.

Skin protectants are products designed to protect the patient's skin by reducing pressure applied to it.

Since I took good self-care at home like this, the toenail healed cleanly and neatly after 2-3 weeks^^
