A review of treatment at a dermatologist for keloids
Some of you may be considering keloid treatment. I've tried various methods to treat keloids, and I'm currently undergoing treatment. I hope sharing my keloid treatment process will be helpful to those who are interested.
I realized I needed keloid treatment because I had received a steroid injection on my shoulder as a child, and the scar continued to grow and grow steadily. Even as an adult, it continued to grow, and it was itchy and unsightly, so I couldn't wear sleeveless clothes. The cause of keloids isn't entirely clear, but it's thought to be caused by increased tissue tension during the healing process after trauma, leading to the release of excessive fibers, which can lead to keloids. Several treatment options are available, but they are generally unsatisfactory. The most common is steroid injections at a dermatologist's office. Because the keloid on my shoulder had been there for a long time, I received steroid injections at a dermatologist's office. I received these injections every three to four weeks for about a year. Steroid injections inhibit fiber synthesis and relieve itching. After about a year of treatment, the scars have significantly improved, and the itchiness has largely subsided. Sometimes, wounds occur during daily life, and in such cases, I apply Cicagel to the area and apply pressure. External pressure therapy is also a treatment option for keloids. Applying Cicagel to a fresh wound can be effective. Depending on the depth and shape of the wound, it may require several months of application. Surgical treatment is also available, but it's not recommended due to the high recurrence rate associated with surgery. I hope my treatment experience will be helpful to those interested in keloid treatment.
