I am sharing my experience after visiting a dermatologist for herpes simplex treatment.
This disease, commonly called herpes simplex, is prone to recurrence. When you are stressed or your immune system is low, the area around your lips will inevitably itch and you will see signs of herpes simplex. I will share my experience of going to a dermatologist and getting treatment for herpes simplex.
1. What is herpes simplex?
Cold sores are caused by herpes virus infection and are divided into types 1 and 2. Type 1 occurs in the mouth or the oral mucosa around the mouth, like the cold sores I experienced. Type 2 occurs around the genitals. This herpes infection is difficult because once infected, the virus lies dormant in the ganglia and keeps recurring when the immune system is weakened, excessive stress, before and after menstruation, or excessive exposure to sunlight. This is a very difficult disease.
2. Symptoms of herpes simplex
When you first experience herpes simplex, you may confuse it with stomatitis. However, if you have a high fever and blisters around your lips, you must go to the hospital and receive treatment for herpes simplex. Those who have experienced it multiple times will immediately know the warning symptoms. When your lips start to itch and hurt, you will know right away. At this time, you must receive treatment for herpes simplex to successfully end the disease in the early stages. I often go to the dermatologist and get a prescription for both ointment and oral medication.
3. What is the treatment for herpes simplex?
For herpes simplex treatment, I go to a dermatologist, but you can go to an internal medicine clinic, pediatric clinic, or dermatology clinic where medication can be prescribed. For herpes simplex treatment, consult a dermatologist and apply it to your lips after observing the affected area. Prescription of acyclovir cream and acyclovir tablets 200mg I received it. I took the oral medication prescribed for 5 days and applied it 5 times a day at 4-hour intervals for 5 days to treat herpes simplex. I responded well in the early stages and my symptoms were alleviated.
4. How do I manage herpes simplex?
To prevent recurrence after herpes simplex treatment, avoid overwork or stress and get regular sleep. Eat a diet rich in vitamin BC and zinc or take nutritional supplements, and continue to apply lip balm with UV protection to prevent exposure to UV rays. The most important thing is to manage it in the early stages. If you have any warning signs, it is essential to apply ointment immediately or visit a hospital quickly. And because viruses can be transmitted, it is important to maintain personal hygiene by not sharing towels and cups with family members!
