Long-term review of toenail fungus treatment

Long-term review of toenail fungus treatment

I've been suffering from toenail fungus for about 10 years. It's easy to treat with medication, but my doctor told me to avoid taking medication because my kidneys aren't in good condition, so I tried treatment with only liquid medicine or topical medicine, but it took longer than expected. Last time, I stopped treatment because I thought I was completely cured (there were no signs of fungus on my toenails or skin), but it came back after only 2 months. When I asked the doctor, he said that even if the fungus isn't visible on the outside, I need to continue treatment for about 3 more months.

So this time, I'm paying more attention to treatment. Just a year ago, toenail fungus was easy to treat by filing the toenails thinly, similar to getting your nails done, to remove the fungus, and applying liquid medicine to make it easier to penetrate. But now, it's not covered by health insurance, so a manicure for both toenails costs 150,000 won. With health insurance, it used to be 7,000 won per toenail... Now, it's so expensive that it's hard to get toenail nailing. Fortunately, I bought a nail file from Daiso for 5,000 won, so I file the toenails and then apply the liquid medicine. After 3-4 months of consistent treatment, there was improvement, and I got the results in the photo. This time, I'm not only going to completely cure the fungus, but I'm going to treat it thoroughly to completely kill the fungus and prevent a recurrence. I'm also going to boil socks separately from the family's laundry so that they don't get mixed in, and I'm also going to be thorough in managing them so that my family doesn't wear them, so that athlete's foot doesn't spread to them.
