Post-war report on the battle against shingles

Hello, today I am typing on the keyboard with a somewhat heavy heart. Recently, I encountered an unwelcome guest called shingles. At first, I thought it was just a tingling sensation on my skin, but that was the beginning of shingles. Truly, it was a series of unexpected pains.

Shingles is a very frightening disease. When I was first diagnosed, the doctor told me that treatment needed to start quickly. Since it is a virus that spreads along the nerves, delaying treatment could lead to more serious problems. So, I was immediately prescribed antiviral medication and painkillers to begin treatment. However, the treatment process was more challenging than I expected. Even after taking the medication, the pain did not easily subside, and the red rash on my skin became more pronounced. I couldn't sleep at night, and I was only worried about when it would get better.

Especially, the neuralgia caused by shingles is truly unforgettable. The stabbing sensation that persists all day makes daily life difficult. Even while receiving consistent treatment, I often blamed myself, wondering why I had contracted such an illness. Hearing that stress and fatigue are among the causes made me regret not taking better care of my health beforehand.

Fortunately, thanks to consistent treatment, I felt myself gradually improving. Taking my medication regularly and managing my condition through hospital visits seemed to be effective. The doctor said that if shingles is not properly treated early on, nerve pain could last for a long time. Hearing that, I was even more determined to stick to my treatment. Although I experienced some nausea as a side effect of the medication, I was determined to overcome it.

I have recovered quite a bit now and have returned to my daily life, but the scars from shingles still remain. The marks left on my skin and the occasional throbbing sensation make me worry, thinking "Will it come back again?" So these days, I am trying to pay more attention to my health. I reduce stress, get enough sleep, and eat foods that boost my immunity. I heard that shingles can recur once you've had it, but I definitely don't want to go through it again.

I have learned a lot from this experience. How precious health is, and that even small signals should not be ignored. The treatment process was difficult, but it also gave me a chance to reflect on myself. From now on, I want to take better care of and love my body so that I don't get diseases like shingles. If there is anyone suffering from shingles right now, I want to tell you to stay strong. If you receive proper treatment, you will definitely get better. Because I did too.

Everyone, please take good care of your health. I hope you won't regret it like I did!
