This is a review of the treatment for a corn on the sole of the foot.
Since some time ago, I have felt discomfort as if a stone had entered one side of my sole, along with a stabbing pain as if pierced by a sharp object.
I visited the dermatology department and learned that I have a corn, and I received explanations about various treatment methods and symptoms of corns.
Eventually, after choosing and undergoing cryotherapy, the symptoms seemed to disappear, and no further corn symptoms could be felt.
Sometimes, hard small stones or hardened foreign substances get inside the socks.
In cases like this, it feels like a stabbing pain and discomfort in the sole of the foot. I started to feel that way repeatedly at some point, but no matter how much I looked, I couldn't see anything like that.
While browsing the internet, I found that it has been condensed into a few points.
Generally, these symptoms seem to be classified as one of corns, warts, or calluses.
Even from the perspective of an amateur, it didn't seem like a callus and appeared somewhat different from the symptoms of a wart.
I started the consultation believing that the symptoms were due to a corn based on what I felt.
If the symptoms of corns are not severe, simply managing them may be an option.
However, if the corn symptoms are severe and cause pain and discomfort, it is recommended to undergo treatment.
Among various methods, freezing treatment was recommended.
Since it's our first time anyway and I have no prior information, I decided to accept the recommendations as they are.
Local anesthesia is administered thoroughly around the wound. The anesthesia injection was quite painful. It truly felt like a piece of flesh was being cut away.
On the contrary, since I was anesthetized, the freezing treatment process was not very painful.
Of course, the pain from the anesthesia injection was relatively less intense, but I still felt some sensation.
After receiving such treatment, the wound healed faster than expected, and there was no recurrence of the corn symptoms, healing well.
It became an opportunity to hope that the corn symptoms will not recur again and to make a resolution to live carefully with my feet.
