My review of applying ointment and treating sun allergy hives
Since some time ago, I developed a sun allergy, and when I was exposed to sunlight, hives appeared on my skin. At first, I thought they would disappear if I just left them alone, so I did nothing, but they didn't easily subside, so I looked for a good ointment for hives, bought it, and applied it. After applying the ointment, the hives that hadn't gone away for several days disappeared immediately the next day. I don't know the cause, but since some time ago, I developed a sun allergy, and even brief outdoor activities caused hives to appear on my neck, the back of my hands, and arms. At first, I didn't know well, so I applied ointments similar to those used for insect bites. However, the hives didn't improve at all and actually worsened. So I had no choice but to visit a hospital, where the doctor said that hives caused by sun allergy should be treated with steroid ointments and gave me a prescription. The ointment I received at that time was not a commercial product but a steroid ointment made by the pharmacy, and since steroid ingredients are quite strong, it was advised not to use it excessively or frequently. But after applying the ointment, the hives were immediately treated. However, upon researching related information, I found that steroid ointments can have very harmful effects on the skin. Therefore, I looked for ointments with lower steroid content that are effective for treating sun allergy hives. The first ointment I found was called Lidomax, in a blue case. There are seven levels of steroid content, from the highest level 1 to the lowest level 7, and the blue Lidomax ointment is level 7, the lowest. Since it has the lowest steroid content, I felt somewhat reassured, and when I applied it to my sun allergy hives, they healed well. However, Lidomax ointment requires a doctor's prescription, which was a bit inconvenient.
So, I looked for and listed ointments that can be purchased at the pharmacy without a doctor's prescription, and I tried various ones. I found that Geiston cream is effective for treating sun allergy hives.
Gistone Cream ointment contains very little steroid, so it can be purchased at the pharmacy without a doctor's prescription. Surprisingly, it was very effective in treating sun allergy hives. If LidoMax only needs to be applied once or twice for treatment, Gistone Cream can treat hives with about two or three applications. So these days, I mainly use Gistone Cream. For those interested in treating sun allergy hives, I think this information might be helpful.
