Annoying seasonal change 'stomatitis'—know and treat it properly
When I get tired, my mouth feels scratchy and stinging. When I look at that area, I find that a canker sore has appeared.
Usually, it also appears on the gums, but for me, it grows on my lips like in the picture below.
Oh... it's a painful and uncomfortable stomatitis.
There are various types of stomatitis as well. I only knew about herpes, but this stomatitis also varies depending on the cause.
They say that treatment methods also differ. There have been no cases that didn't improve with over-the-counter medication, but such cases require treatment at the hospital.

Methods for treating stomatitis
Mouth ulcers can be alleviated with over-the-counter medications (ointments, gargles, patches, etc.), but if there is no improvement after 2 to 3 weeks, it is best to seek treatment at a hospital.
Recurrent aphthous stomatitis and lichen planus are treated with steroids or immunomodulators, while herpetic stomatitis is treated with antiviral agents. Candidiasis is managed with antifungal medications to suppress fungal infection.
Management in daily life is also necessary. Avoid spicy foods and unfamiliar foods, and if pain makes eating difficult, it is good to supplement nutrition with liquid supplements. Also, drink plenty of lukewarm water instead of caffeinated beverages that dry out the mouth.
You should also be careful when brushing your teeth. Dr. Park Won-jong from Seoul St. Mary's Hospital Catholic University Dental Clinic advised, "Gently brush the affected area with a soft toothbrush, avoiding the area with stomatitis, and after brushing, it is good to rinse your mouth lightly with an alcohol-free mouthwash."
If you are undergoing prosthetic treatment, you should pay more attention to preventing stomatitis.
Users of dentures are particularly vulnerable to stomatitis, so it is recommended to have regular check-ups every 3 months.
