Eating a balanced diet of healthy foods can provide your body with the vitamins it needs without supplements. However, if maintaining a balanced diet is difficult and your lifestyle habits are unhealthy, vitamin deficiencies can negatively impact your health. We looked into the facial symptoms of vitamin deficiency, drawing on data from health and medical media outlets like Medical Daily.

 

Depression Depression is often linked to vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D is known to affect the brain and mood-regulating hormones like serotonin.


Most vitamin D is obtained through sunlight. However, excessive exposure to UV rays, enough to cause sunburn, accelerates skin aging and increases the risk of skin cancer.

Therefore, to avoid sunburn, it's best to exercise outdoors for less than 10 minutes at a time, especially during summer months like these. Eating foods rich in vitamin D, such as oily fish, egg yolks, mushrooms, nuts, and milk, is also helpful.

 

lethargy Muscle strength isn't solely related to iron levels. Vitamin D deficiency can easily lead to severe fatigue, even with adequate sleep. Adequate vitamin D intake helps maintain muscle strength in both young and old individuals.

A severe vitamin C deficiency can lead to scurvy, a condition characterized by bleeding, general malaise, and loss of appetite. It's important to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables rich in vitamin C.

 

pale skin A pale complexion can be a sign of a vitamin B12 deficiency. Vitamin B12 is involved in red blood cell production, so a deficiency can lead to anemia, fatigue, shortness of breath, and decreased exercise capacity. If your skin is pale, eat foods like salmon, eggs, and yogurt.

 

dry hair If your hair and scalp are noticeably dry, you may be deficient in vitamin B7. Vitamin B7 helps build nails and hair and regenerates scalp cells. If your hair is extremely dry, try eating sweet potatoes, carrots, and egg yolks.
