Eating a variety of foods that are good for health can provide enough vitamins the body needs without taking supplements. However, maintaining a balanced diet consistently is difficult, and if lifestyle habits are poor, vitamin deficiencies can negatively impact health. In this regard, based on information from health and medical media such as 'Medical Daily,' we looked into the symptoms that appear on the face when there is a vitamin deficiency.

 

Depression=depressive disorder is sometimes associated with vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D acts on the brain and is known to influence mood-related hormones such as serotonin.


Most vitamin D is obtained through sunlight. However, exposing the skin to ultraviolet rays to the point of sunburn accelerates skin aging and increases the risk of skin cancer.

Therefore, it is advisable to avoid sun exposure and, especially during the summer months like now, to exercise outdoors for less than 10 minutes at a time. Additionally, consuming foods rich in vitamin D such as blue fish, egg yolks, mushrooms, nuts, and milk is also helpful.

 

Lethargy = Muscle strength is not only related to iron levels in the body. If you are deficient in vitamin D, you are likely to feel severe fatigue even after getting enough sleep. Adequate intake of vitamin D helps maintain muscle strength in both young and elderly individuals.

 

Gum bleeding=If your gums bleed too often not due to brushing or flossing issues, it is a sign of vitamin C deficiency. Severe deficiency in vitamin C can lead to bleeding, general fatigue, loss of appetite, and other symptoms of scurvy. You should consume plenty of fruits and vegetables rich in vitamin C.

 

Pale skin = Pale complexion may be a sign of vitamin B12 deficiency. Since vitamin B12 is involved in red blood cell production, deficiency can lead to anemia, fatigue, shortness of breath, and decreased physical ability. If your skin is pale, eat salmon, eggs, yogurt, and other similar foods.

 

Dry hair = If your hair and scalp appear noticeably dry, you may be lacking vitamin B7. Vitamin B7 helps in the formation of nails and hair and promotes the regeneration of scalp cells. If your hair has become too dry, eat sweet potatoes, carrots, and egg yolks.
