치과는 진짜 미루면 안되는 곳중 하나이죠 저도 검진 받아야겠어요
My gums have been unhealthy for a while, and they bleed every time I brush my teeth.
I thought it was nothing special and just a little uncomfortable, so I left it alone because it didn't hurt.
I visited the dentist for a consultation because I was bleeding more and more when brushing my teeth.
I received gum treatment multiple times because I was told it would get better.
I wondered how it differs from scaling.
It really felt like flipping my gums inside out and cleaning every corner.
At first, I was worried I might get hurt... but after doing it, I felt refreshed and relieved.
From the second visit onwards, I felt less scared.
Interestingly, after about four gum treatments, I no longer bleed at all when brushing.
I regret not receiving treatment earlier.
I realized once again that delaying dental treatment makes it more difficult to treat.
Scaling is often performed by nurses.
Gum treatment is a more specialized field, so I trust it more because the doctor personally takes care of it.
If you experience bleeding gums and inflammation, do not delay and be sure to visit the dentist for treatment.
A brief pain makes you healthier. ^^
Gum disease affects over 80% of adults. However, since there is little pain and it does not significantly interfere with daily life, many people tend to neglect it. Young people in their 20s might not notice, but once you reach your 30s or 40s and beyond, symptoms of gum inflammation can appear gradually and become quite common.
Typical symptoms of gum disease
1. Bleeding and pain occur. After brushing your teeth and spitting out the toothpaste, you may see red blood. The gums that are at rest may feel itchy, swollen, or painful.
2. If you have no cavities in your teeth but suddenly notice bad breath? Also, if you brush your teeth and rinse but still feel a lingering, dull sensation in your mouth, this is also a common symptom of gum disease.
3. Symptoms of gum recession. Gums play a role in firmly holding the teeth, but if there is a gum disease, it may not hold the teeth properly, leading to gum recession.
4. If gum inflammation becomes severe and develops into gingivitis or periodontitis, the gums will no longer be able to hold the teeth properly, causing a feeling of looseness. If left untreated... it can lead to tooth loss due to what is commonly called periodontal disease, so gum care is really important.
Gum treatment process
-
We start with scaling. Scaling is the process of removing plaque, food debris, and other residues from the surface of the teeth and between the teeth. If the gums are generally clean and healthy, scaling alone is sufficient without gum treatment. Since scaling is covered by health insurance once a year, the cost can range from 10,000 to 20,000 won depending on the clinic, so be sure to get it once a year!
-
If gum disease worsens after scaling, we proceed with gum treatment. This involves removing tartar and inflamed tissue located deep within the gums. Since it involves removing tartar from deep within the gums, the procedure is performed under local anesthesia.
-
Gum treatment is divided into areas such as the upper left molar area, lower left molar area, upper right molar area, lower right molar area, upper front teeth, and lower front teeth, and is performed at one-week intervals.
Gum treatment pain varies; some people feel pain after anesthesia, while others do not. If your gums are very unhealthy... isn't it natural to feel pain after anesthesia? We used dental tools to scrape deep into the gums, after all... It's a pain that can be endured. Personally, I tend to have poor gum health, so after the anesthesia wears off, my gums feel slightly sore for about a day. If you brush gently and naturally, after a day or two, you'll feel your gums become more resilient and healthy, so I can endure this level of pain anytime!
