버섯이 건강에 좋다죠 버섯 좋아요
Chronic diseases are on the rise due to Westernized dietary habits. In particular, it is known that 7 out of every 100 adults suffer from diabetes. To prevent diabetes, it is crucial to maintain dietary habits that avoid sugary, spicy, and ultra-processed foods, as well as manage one's weight. Additionally, consuming foods that help prevent diabetes is beneficial, one of which is the 'Lion's Mane Mushroom,' well-known for its unique name and shape. Let's explore its benefits.
◇ High-protein, low-calorie diet food
Lion's Mane mushroom was named after its resemblance to the white, fluffy hindquarters of a deer. Its nutritional benefits are so exceptional that it was once considered a longevity food by Chinese emperors who wished for a long and healthy life. Lion's Mane mushrooms have the highest protein content among mushrooms, at 24.5%. Conversely, they are low in fat and calories, making them helpful for weight loss. Additionally, they are high in fiber and rich in minerals, B vitamins, and Vitamin D.
◇ Prevention of dementia and diabetes
Lion's Mane mushrooms have garnered attention for their effectiveness in preventing dementia and diabetes. In fact, the pharmacological functions of the HECCN substance found in Lion's Mane mushrooms regarding dementia prevention and central nervous system disorders have been revealed. Unlike other mushrooms, Lion's Mane mushrooms are rich in phenolic compounds, which have the ability to inhibit and eliminate free radicals that cause inflammation and aging in the body. Research results indicate that this helps prevent nerve cell damage and promotes proliferation, thereby significantly aiding in the suppression of dementia, while also boosting immunity to improve diabetes.
◇ Helps with digestive disorders
In traditional Korean medicine, Lion's Mane mushrooms are known to be effective for stomach and intestinal diseases. Containing beta-glucan (polysaccharide), oleanolic acid, complex amino acids, and fatty acids, Lion's Mane mushrooms are excellent for treating indigestion, reflux esophagitis, and gastrointestinal disorders, and are therefore used for medicinal purposes.
◇ It tastes better when dried
Lion's Mane mushrooms can be washed under running water and added to soups or stews, or stir-fried. In particular, it is better to consume dried Lion's Mane mushrooms rather than raw ones. This is because various nutrients become concentrated during the drying process.
Brewing tea with dried Lion's Mane mushrooms allows their components to leach into the water, making it more effective in preventing inflammatory diseases than eating them raw. Dried mushrooms can be soaked in water for 10 minutes and stir-fried with vegetables to make Lion's Mane vegetable stir-fry, or the water infused with the mushrooms can be used to cook rice or make porridge. Lion's Mane mushrooms pair particularly well with onions. Adding onions helps lower blood cholesterol levels.
Meanwhile, lion's mane mushrooms tend to have a strong bitter taste. The bitterness can be removed by soaking them in water for at least half a day, blanching them in boiling water, and then gently squeezing out the excess water. If you wish to use them without the bitterness removal process, it is best to use them in dishes with low moisture content or in stir-fried dishes.
=============
I tried it when I had herbal chicken soup, but I really didn't like it.
It looks like it's really good for your health..
It seems it is more effective if you dry it before eating.
I think it would be fine if consumed as tea (in my case).
