A story of treating lymphadenitis with antibiotics and improving dietary habits

I am a profession that involves speaking, so I often have a sore throat and didn't realize that my lymphadenitis was progressing. Eventually, as the symptoms worsened, I went to the hospital. The diagnosis was fortunately not a malignant tumor or metastasis from other organs, but an infection caused by bacteria, so I was treated with antibiotics for about two weeks and gradually improved. However, since the condition of my throat did not improve quickly due to lymphadenitis, I consumed a lot of foods believed to be good for lymphadenitis and paid close attention to my eating habits.

Before I contracted lymphadenitis, I didn't even know the word lymph node. Afterwards, I went to the hospital, listened to the explanation, and researched the disease, which helped me understand it well. Lymphadenitis refers to the swelling of lymph nodes in the neck area, where about 40% of the body's lymph nodes become enlarged due to infection or other causes, compared to normal.

Lymph nodes are pathways through which fluids other than blood circulate. Lymph fluid is one of the two types of bodily fluids that normally exist within the human body alongside blood, and it is mainly responsible for immune functions. The causes of lymphadenitis can include bacteria, viruses, overwork, and stress, which cause the lymph nodes to react, or malignant tumors originating in other organs that spread to the lymph nodes, causing inflammation.

In my case, since I have a job that involves speaking, I often have a sore throat and didn't realize I had lymphadenitis until my symptoms worsened and I went to the hospital. At that time, I also had a fever and felt extremely fatigued, making it difficult to work normally.

The symptoms of lymphadenitis include swelling of the lymph nodes, which can be felt as lumps, and in cases of infectious lymphadenitis, pressing on the affected area often causes significant pain. Fortunately, according to hospital diagnosis, it was not a malignant tumor or metastasis from another organ, but an infection caused by bacteria, which was treated with antibiotics for about two weeks and gradually improved. However, it was difficult because the condition of the throat did not improve quickly despite the lymphadenitis.

So I paid a lot of attention to my eating habits and frequently ate spinach, which contains iron and vitamin C to boost the immune system, and broccoli, rich in antioxidants, vitamin K, and C, which can reduce inflammation. I also ate nuts like sunflower seeds daily because they are rich in omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants, which can help reduce inflammation. Additionally, I made sure to include dietary fiber, which aids digestion and helps eliminate toxins from the body, thereby supporting immunity.
