Six years ago, I happened to be diagnosed with thyroid cancer during a health check-up. Fortunately, it was very early stage, so I only underwent surgery without chemotherapy or radiation therapy. The surgery was successful, and now, six years after the operation, my regular check-ups show that I am doing well without any issues^^
It's become a hassle to take one Shinzroid pill before meals every day, but oh wellㅎㅎ
Since I have had a thyroid condition and live with the risk of it recurring at any time, I tend to pay more attention to my diet.
Tomatoes, oysters, berries, broccoli, and so on... I found that there are many foods that are good for the thyroid gland^^
Even if you have hyperthyroidism If it is not a case of receiving radioactive iodine therapy There is no need to excessively restrict foods containing iodine, and it is recommended to consume a variety of foods in moderation. Patients with hyperthyroidism can have iodine intake up to 10-60%. It is said that energy requirements will increase. So, to maintain your usual healthy weight, it's good to consume enough calories~
Try not to skip meals whenever possible. Eat a variety of foods evenly, three meals a day. It is recommended to consume it regularly, so those with thyroid conditions, be sure to eat three proper meals a day! ^^
And I have a medication that I take regularly every month after thyroid surgery, which is vitamin D.
After thyroidectomy, the body's ability to produce vitamins decreases, so they feel very tired even after doing a little work or moving around.
If you do not take vitamin D oral supplements like me, it is usually produced in the body through sunlight, so increasing outdoor activities is necessary. While it can also be supplemented with medication, it is best to obtain it through food.^^
The following are foods that contain a lot of vitamin D.
1) Fatty fish: Fatty fish such as salmon, tuna, flatfish, and mackerel have high vitamin D content. In particular, it is best to eat salmon raw, which contains about 500-1000 IU of vitamin D per 100g.
2) Milk and dairy products: Milk, cheese, yogurt, and other dairy products are low in vitamin D content, but some dairy products may be fortified with vitamin D.
3) Eggs: Egg yolks contain vitamin D.
4) Grains and cereals: Some grains and cereal products, such as oatmeal and cereals, may be fortified with vitamin D.
I try to make sure I don't miss drinking milk and eating eggs every day, at least.^^
This is my health tip for managing thyroid disease♡
