My teenage son's stomatitis~~~He keeps having it.
I have a second-year middle school son. Due to genetic factors, he gets canker sores very frequently. He says that I, as his mother, had to visit the hospital many times for canker sores when I was young. Although he still gets them often now, as an adult, I can manage self-treatment and endure it, but my son finds it very difficult. I feel sorry and guilty, thinking that it's my fault.
Moreover, since I am a Taekwondo athlete, when I get a sore spot in my mouth, it's a big deal. If bleeding occurs, it fills up with yellowish fluid like pus, and eventually I end up visiting the hospital countless times.
At the hospital, they call it aphthous stomatitis, and they tell you to take vitamins properly, then they disinfect the area, apply medication to the affected site, and prescribe antibiotics. This reduces the pain, but the problem is recurrence.
No matter how well you take vitamins and eat properly, if you're just a little tired or feeling unwell, the relapse happens immediately.
The most difficult symptom of stomatitis is the restriction on food intake and the fact that the patient often bites the affected area while eating. During such times, they cry and complain. Of course, it must be very painful. As a result, they can't eat well even at an age when they should be growing, which makes it even more heartbreaking.
They say I should pay attention to immune system management, so I take vitamins and supplements and focus on sleep, but recurrence is still a problem. I feel very sorry and sorry for my son, who is at an age where he should be eating well and staying healthy, but he constantly suffers from stomatitis. If you have experienced effective treatment for stomatitis, please help.
